Our Beliefs
What We Believe
At Covenant Church we confess that the Bible is the
Inspired, infallible and inerrant Word of God. |
We accept as true what the Bible teaches us:
1) That God is the Creator of all things.
2) That God created man in His own image with honor, worth and dignity.
3) That our first parents Adam and Eve fell into sin.
4) That apart from Jesus Christ none can be saved from their sins.
5) That the Lord Jesus came to save those whom God has called.
6) One day Jesus Christ will return bodily and usher in his kingdom, full of righteousness and holiness.
At Covenant Church our heritage as both Reformed and Presbyterian goes back to the Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century.
Our denomination formed from the coming together of two denominations, the Associate Presbyterians and the Reformed Presbyterians in the 1700's. More can be learned about our denomination by visiting our ARP History page.
We embrace and uphold the system of doctrine contained in the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Westminster Larger and Shorter Catechisms (each will open as a PDF file, and can be saved to your computer).
