Reverend Wilson became a born again Christian in 1969 at the age of 25 (already married with one child) and within a year believed God called him to a teaching, preaching, pastoring ministry, which led to the following:
Military: North Carolina Air National Guard (6 years) 1964-1970.
Academics: ABA Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, N.C. 1972
                    BA Belhaven College, Jackson, Miss. 1974
                    Master of Divinity, RTS Jackson, Miss. 1977
                    Doctor of Ministry, RTS Jackson, Miss. 1985
                    Ordained as a Teaching Elder in the PCA (1977) & in the ARP in 2005.

He has had a long and rich ministry experience:
*  Student Supply Pastor (while in Seminary), Church Planter in Fayetteville, N.C., pastored small, medium, and large size churches, (Senior Pastor of the medium and large ones). The large church also had a Christian School.
*  Served as Moderator of two Presbyteries, and Chairman of a number of Presbytery Committees, Outreach North America, Christian Education, Minister and His Work, currently serves on the Congregational Health Committee .
*  Served as Chairman of our denominational Ecclesiastical  Judicial Commission. Currently serves on the denominational Board of Stewardship and the Foundation Board.
*Served as an Affiliate Evangelist with PEF, and as an in prison Seminar Teacher with Prison Fellowship.
*   Served on the Board and Chairman of the Board of PEF (Presbyterian Evangelistic Fellowship), which included a mission trip to Uganda (30 days), East Africa, and ministry in the inner city of Atlanta, Georgia.

Reverend Wilson retired in 2012, but continues to serve as Pastor and Pulpit Supply as well as Moderator of Sessions in a number of churches and mission churches in First Presbytery.
